True stories of the author’s experiencing opportunities to be a blessing to others or to be blessed by others. Each of the thirty-one chapters end with “Life-Changing Lesson,” “Life-Changing Verse,” “Life-Changing Challenge,” which encourages you to Pray, Prepare, and Take Action. It also provides several blank lined pages for a journal. This book is formatted to be used by small groups as a Bible study or a personal devotional. The only drawback, it did not have a table of contents which I typed up myself. I have recommended this book to several women’s Bible Study Groups and to all my friends.
The stories encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and to write about how I shared or could share in the future my talents, skills, finances, possessions, knowledge or purchased an item to pass along to bless someone. I realized I needed to act upon the stirrings of the Holy Spirit. Some chapters comforted me. Some convicted me to forgive and led me through the process. Each scripture application drew me into a deeper hunger for the Word of God.
In particular the chapter on how to pray and deal with a difficult person focusing on finding grace to celebrate their life. I thought of mom. It inspired me to write a whole chapter in my manuscript about her. After writing ten pages, I realized I was celebrating her life, letting go of the past, and forgiving her. Tears rolled down my cheeks and my chest quaked with sorrow as I wrote about her passing away. Now I truly miss her. Never once did I bring up our difficulties. After reading another chapter I found myself writing a nine page chapter into my manuscript about my ex-husband and how dearly I loved him and celebrated his life with grace. Each chapter had this impact upon me.
Personally, I had a 209 page memoir manuscript that I submitted to a Publisher and it was accepted. Before I signed the proposal I came upon Be The Miracle and started reading it. Right away I was hooked. By inspiration of its stories as I was reading it I would often stop and type into to my manuscript what I learned and the memories of my life experiences that came to mind, as well as, include the scripture references. Due to the opportunity to journal at the end of every chapter of Be The Miracle my manuscript is now 244 pages. And I’m still writing. I called the Publisher and turned down the proposal because I realized I was not yet finished. I will read it again.
