Activating Faith in everyday life
Dear Pastor,
I appreciate how ‘real’ you present yourself to us as “just another sinner saved by grace,” a lover of the Word and a submitter to the Word. Thank you for being our faithful teacher and guide, and our tender-hearted friend.
I pray for you, your wife and your family, (including your congregation):
That it would be daily evident to our community that we are people of God, lovers and followers of all parts of God’s Word:
The counseling of the Word (2Tim. 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work
I pray that your lives, and ours, would each individually reveal that God’s Word is our counselor, directory, guide, and rule of life – the direction sign that shares all things to be believed and practiced.
The judgment of the Word: Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.
I pray that each family member and congregation member will first “Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4
So that each heart desires will be one with His and neither we nor you will fear God’s judgment for our life or actions.
The comfort of the Word (the promises) – Psalm 94:19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
I pray that we will each turn to God’s promises during challenging times, and remember that He has already provided all that we need for life and for godliness. (2 Peter 1:3)
I pray that God will enable your congregation to uphold you and your family by respecting and appreciating your time in the scriptures, by praying that God’s Word delivered to you would enable your family (and your congregation) to prioritize diligently reading the Word, frequently meditating on it, hiding it in our hearts, preferring it above all precious things, talking about the Word, conforming our lives to the Word and willing to defend the Word with our lives. (Revelations 6:9).
I pray that we (your community) would be a reflection of God’s work in your life. That the Word would also be evident to the world as our compass, providing balance to our hectic lives in a tumultuous world. I pray also that we would spend more time in prayer for you, your family, and each other, than we spend complaining about one another, that we would submit to the authority of God’s Word, to your position of authority as our pastor who also submits to Christ, and continually and faithfully uphold you and your family with daily praises, prayers and open hearts to apply the Word God gives you to preach into our lives, until the Lord returns.
And i give thanks that with each sunrise, we are One Day Closer!
